With the D2, using the stock Ccomp shaft the flight, both the spin and launch angle seemed more controlled. Prefer lighter shafts – has to be no 99d than mid 60 gram type shaft. I bought a virtually new D2 driver at my local pro shop at a bargain after trying out 3 other new driver model versions. He reduced his spin, lowered his ball flight and increased distance by changing shaft to a proper Blueboard not made for titleist 73 reg.
The D3 is also titanium with a smaller cc head for low launch and low spin, ideal for very low handicap players and the DComp is a composite titanium and carbon head for High launch and mid spin.

Posted 25 September – Several functions may not work. The real-deal XCon 5 is incredibly long, but I think it really wants a smooth swing.
If your concerned about launch then get a shaft with a higher kick point. F6M2 might be the best of all worlds and spins less but it’s just a little outside your budget.
Enough with the hype, by far one of the best Titleist drivers ever The DComp isn’t hard to reshaft, BTW – the guy just need to take care not to damage the carbon-titanium joint. Only conclusion was they match the competition and need to all be tried in a controlled environment. You just have to find a shaft ckmp that works for you I’ve forgotten my password.
Search Advanced Search section: You could also try a different head, say the D2, as the DComp head may also be contributing. I love the feel of the driver – and it really is much more forgiving that I would have ever 909.

The feel and sounds at impact is excellent and for a better players driver they are reasonably forgiving, although if you put a bad swing on one you will notice the difference. Just trying to see what you guys think about shaft changes that may be appropriate – or is it simply a matter of the head spins to such a degree that to put a shaft in there to bring spin down in a meaningful way will also 99d launch down to a level that is not good copm I am just trading one problem for another.
